Compared to two weeks ago: steers from 400 lbs to 449 lbs were generally 20.00 to 30.00 lower, other weight classes not well compared but softer undertones on spring born calves. Heifers from 750 lbs to 999 lbs were mostly steady with instances of 8.00 to 10.00 higher depending on condition and quality. Heifers calves not well compared but softer undertones were noted. A big run of cattle for the 79th anniversary sale. Several strings of yearlings with a lot of tested open replacement heifers offered as packages. Yearling steers and heifers were met with good to very good demand and sold on an active market. Internet byers were competing with order byers today as cattle feeders cautiously try to refill empty pen space. Several consignments for todays calf sale had a fairly wide price rang depending on shot records and quality of the calf. Buyers were more cautious on the calves when compared to the yearling offering. Most of the area received some much needed moisture this past week. Next feeder sale is scheduled for Friday, October 2, 2026, expecting a large run of yearlings and spring born calves.
