Compared to last week, steer calves and yearling steers were not well tested with last week's very limited test but sold with a sharply higher undertone on all classes, the best test was on two pot loads of 707-717 lb heifers selling 12.00-17.00 higher than last week's pot loads of similar weights and two pot loads of 695 lb heifers trading mostly 5.00 higher than last week with all other weights of heifers selling with a sharply higher undertone. Demand was very good on a moderate offering with the stick sales included a pot load of steers weighing 667 lbs at 384.25, near pot load steers weighing 700 lbs at 369.75, 144 hd of 694 lb heifers at 350.00, pot load of heifers weighing 717 lbs 350.00. Feeder Cattle futures had a very good day closing from 8.40-8.80 higher on the four front months. Overall quality was very good on calves and yearlings and all sold on a very active market. Slaughter cows on a light offering sold steady.
