Compared to the last special two weeks ago, the best test on steer calves were weighing 500-600 lbs selling 10.00-20.00 higher, spots 25.00 higher on the 550-600 lb steers and a light test of 600-650 lb steers sold mostly 10.00-15.00 higher all other weights of feeder steers sold with a higher undertone on limited test. Heifer calves weighing 400-500 lbs sold with a sharply higher undertone on light comparison from two weeks ago with the majority of the heifers weighing 750-950 lbs selling in groups and part loads all trading with a higher undertone. Demand was good on a good quality offering of calves and yearling heifers. Few stick-out sales included 24 steer calves weighing 544 lbs at 451.00; 22 heifer calves weighing 404 lbs at 460.00 and 33 heifers weighing 959 lbs at 300.00. CME cattle futures have seen follow through rally that began last week along with temperatures moderating and with a higher fed cattle market in the North trading Friday afternoon from 222.00-225.00, mostly 224.00 all giving support to the feeder market. Slaughter cows compared to two weeks ago traded 5.00-8.00 lower.
