*** Close *** Compared to last week: Feeder steers over 800 lbs steady to 4.00 higher; under 800 lbs lightly tested and steady to 4.00 lower. Feeder heifers 1.00-5.00 lower. Demand moderate to good for feeders. Steer calves over 500 lbs steady to 5.00 higher; under 500 lbs lightly tested and a lower undertone noted. Heifer calves over 500 lbs steady; under 500 lbs 5.00-10.00 lower. Demand moderate for calves with best demand on longer weaned calves. Several un-weaned calves included. Cattle futures closed sharply higher after a somewhat favorable Cattle on Feed report last Friday. Quality average to attractive. Weather has finally cooled off some and temps expected to be mostly in the 80's this week. Rain is still badly needed in most parts of the state. Central Oklahoma has only had 14.5 inches of rain for the year and thru August the overall average temperature for the state is now the hottest on record.
